If you saw I Can Only Imagine 2, you’ve already met part of my story. Here’s the rest — how Jesus met me in the 10K minutes of everyday life.

TIM TIMMONS

Tim Timmons is a singer, songwriter, and worship leader whose music carries a unique blend of authenticity, humor, and hope. Diagnosed with incurable cancer over two decades ago, Tim has turned his journey into a catalyst for songs that point people toward practicing life with Jesus every day.

He co-wrote MercyMe’s Grammy-nominated hit Even If, now featured in the upcoming film I Can Only Imagine…Even If, where actor Milo Ventimiglia portrays Tim. Since his debut Cast My Cares (2013), followed by Awake Our Souls (2015) and HERE (2021), Timmons has released songs that serve as prayers—“You Never Let Go,” “This Is The Day,” “Roar,” and “No Other Gods”—all reminders of God’s nearness in every season.

Beyond his music, Tim founded 10000 MINUTES, a nonprofit and podcast encouraging people to live out their faith in the 10,000 minutes of the week outside Sunday services. At home in Nashville, he and his wife Hilary raise four children, sharing life in community and practicing daily rhythms of gratitude and faith.

Whether through songs, stories, or ministry, Tim Timmons’s mission is simple: to help people walk with Jesus in the everyday moments of life.

10000 MINUTES

If 80 minutes are spent in a weekly church gathering, that leaves 10,000 other minutes. What has your attention in the 10,000 minutes?

10000 MINUTES exists to Invite, Inspire and Equip people to know & follow Jesus all week long.

Through our weekly podcast, 10000 MINUTES, guests from different vocations and points of views join Tim Timmons to unpack what currently has their attention and invite us into a weekly practice that inspires us to join Jesus all week long.

Life is loud and full of demands, obligations and distractions.

How different would we love, give, show up as the Church if we actually lived as though the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lived in and through us ALL WEEK LONG? Join us as we follow Jesus all week long in the 80 Minutes when we gather and in the 10,000 MINUTES as we scatter in the name, power, leading, and authority of Jesus.

WAKING UP AGAIN: A Journey Through Grief and Gratitude

(working title and cover)

In 2024, Hilary and I were approached by Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate Films about lending our story to their sequel to I Can Only Imagine. That film told the story of our dear friends Bart and Shannon Millard and the origins of MercyMe. If you picked up this book because you saw that movie—yes, Milo Ventimiglia plays me, and yes, we’re basically twins (if you ask me). But more importantly, you now know I’ve been living with an incurable cancer diagnosis.

This book isn’t about cancer. It’s about the beauty God has brought through it. Cancer is the lens, not the point. This is a story about joining Jesus and watching Him make beauty out of brokenness.

The idea for 10000 MINUTES began after I left my 15-year job as a worship pastor. On day one of this new chapter, I heard someone mention there are 10,080 minutes in a week. That statistic hit hard. I had built my whole life around the 80-minute Sunday service. But what about the other 10,000 minutes? That moment launched a new pursuit—not to abandon church, but to live fully with Jesus in every moment, not just on Sundays.

For the past 15 years, I’ve traveled the U.S. as a musician, gaining a front-row seat to the beauty and struggle of the Church. A recurring theme I’ve seen is how easily we silo our faith. It’s easy to practice Jesus’ way when we gather. But when we scatter? That’s where we forget.

This book shares what we’ve learned about practicing the way of Jesus in the every day. It’s organized into seven themes—Suffering, Trust, Community, Contentment, Blessing, Enemy Love, and Attention—each explored through stories and simple, tangible practices.

We don’t have it all figured out. But by God’s gentle grace, we’re still learning to live fully, even in hard times. Like Gandalf told Frodo: “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” This is how we’re choosing to live ours.
