That film told the story of our dear friends Bart and Shannon Millard and the origins of MercyMe. But more importantly, you now know I’ve been living with an incurable cancer diagnosis. This book isn’t about cancer. It’s about the beauty God has brought through it. Cancer is the lens, not the point. This is a story about joining Jesus and watching Him make beauty out of brokenness. The idea for 10000 MINUTES began after I left my 15-year job as a worship pastor. On day one of this new chapter, I heard someone mention there are 10,080 minutes in a week. That statistic hit hard. I had built my whole life around the 80-minute Sunday service. But what about the other 10,000 minutes? That moment launched a new pursuit—not to abandon church, but to live fully with Jesus in every moment, not just on Sundays. For the past 15 years, I’ve traveled the U.S. as a musician, gaining a front-row seat to the beauty and struggle of the Church. A recurring theme I’ve seen is how easily we silo our faith. It’s easy to practice Jesus’ way when we gather. But when we scatter? That’s where we forget. This book shares what we’ve learned about practicing the way of Jesus in the every day. It’s organized into seven themes—Suffering, Trust, Community, Contentment, Blessing, Enemy Love, and Attention—each explored through stories and simple, tangible practices. We don’t have it all figured out. But by God’s gentle grace, we’re still learning to live fully, even in hard times.
